Members of Parliament are selected to embark on a special mission for his constituents for a period of 4 years? After 4 years, he/she has every right to ask his constituents to renew his/her mandate.
In most situations, the electorates renew their mandate on the basis of works of the MP during his/her tenure of office. In other cases, the electorates are motivated and enticed to vote for the MP base on his or her political affiliation.
On 7th January, 2001; a young and energetic man by name Kobina Tahir Hammond was voted by the good people of Adansi Asokwa to represent the in Parliament. In fact, he has done what he can in him limited capacity for his constituency.
Since he emerged as the MP, there hasn't been any parliamentary primaries in the NPP as far as his Constituency is concern. This has given him the urge to manage the parliamentary seat for almost two(2) decades.
The dance to the music has totally changed in 2020. On 20th June, 2020, the incumbent MP would be contested by Sammy Binfoh Darkwa in the impending parliamentary primaries of the New Patriotic Party. The contest has raised a lot of issues in the Constituency. One question, that has been posed by the constituents is; can KT succeed?
Stalwarts of KT Hammond are hopeful that, he will emerge victorious. They believe that, he has done a lot to for the constituents to walk over his contenders.
