"WORK HARD IF YOU REALLY WANT TO BEAT HON. K.T HAMMOND"- NANA SARFO KANTANKA SHAIRA

YOU MUST BE INDUSTRIOUS IF YOU WANT TO BEAT K.T HAMMOND IN 2020- A MESSAGE TO ADANSI ASOKWA PARLIAMENTARY CANDIDATES.

Partisan politics in Ghana has done more harm done good over the last four (4) decades. Our country has suffered a lot from the actions and inactions of some corrupt and visionless politicians in recent times.

Most people go into politics with the aim of developing their constituency with the limited resources at their disposal but it later turn up to be the opposite. They rather enrich themselves and their families at the expense of welfare of their constituents. They abruptly forget their promises, the plights of their constituents and even aggravate the woes of the constituency.

2020 is just around the corner, Ghanaians will surely go to the polls to elect our parliamentary candidates. Adansi Asokwa Constituency cannot be left out. I am 100% sure that, Hon. K.T Hammond would surely be on the ballot paper. That's good. He has every right to contest but as to who gives him a keen competition is what the constituents want to know.

K.T Hammond is a strong politician, he has already built every muscle he needs to win the seat but I believe the constituents would be glad if someone with great ideas/vision contest him. The point that, K.T has been on the seat for quite too long and for that matter he must be voted against is a non starter. Hard work and strategically sell yourself to the constituents.

Over the years, his contenders had been campaigning on a long tone, their messages were not convincing, their relationships with the constituents are not the best, their contributions to community development are inconspicuous and they adopt weak and porous campaign strategies.

Should you want to beat K.T, then you need a powerful campaign message. Be strategic and hardworking.

20 BRILLIANT QUOTES BY OSAGYEFO DR. KWAME NKRUMAH.

Osagyef Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
Dr Kwame Nkrumah can simply be described as a man who believed in African Unity and pushed for self governance.
He was Ghana’s first president and prime minister who led the fight against British colonialism to gain Ghana’s independence. He was also one of the founding fathers of the Organization of African Unity.
Below are some brilliant quotes by Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah:1. I am not African because I was born in Africa but because Africa was born in me.
2. It is clear that we must find an African solution to our problems and that this can only be found in African unity. Divided we are weak; united, Africa could become one of the greatest forces for good in the world.
3. As far as I am concerned, I am in the knowledge that death can never extinguish the torch which I have lit in Ghana and Africa. Long after I am dead and gone, the light will continue to burn and be borne aloft, giving light and guidance to all people
4. Action without thought is empty. Thought without action is blind.
5. Countrymen, the task ahead is great indeed and heavy is the responsibility; and yet it is a noble and glorious challenge – a challenge which calls for the courage to dream, the courage to believe, the courage to dare, the courage to do, the courage to envision, the courage to fight, the courage to work, the courage to achieve – to achieve the highest excellencies and the fullest greatness of man. Dare we ask for more in life?
6. Africa is a paradox which illustrates and highlights neo-colonialism. Her earth is rich, yet the products that come from above and below the soil continue to enrich, not Africans predominantly, but groups and individuals who operate to Africa’s impoverishment.
7. The forces that unite us are intrinsic and greater than the superimposed influences that keep us apart.
8. The result of neo-colonialism is that foreign capital is used for the exploitation rather than for the development of the less developed parts of the world. Investment under neo-colonialism increases rather than decreases the gap between the rich and poor countries of the world.
9. The independence of Ghana is meaningless unless it is linked-up with the total liberation of the African Continent
10. All people of African descent, whether they live in North or South America, the Caribbean, or in any part of the world are Africans and belong to the African nation.
11. Freedom is not something that one people can bestow on another as a gift. They claim it as their own and none can keep it from them.
quote-africa-is-one-continent-one-people-and-one-nation-kwame-nkrumah-84-48-15
12.  It is only the ending of capitalism, colonialism, imperialism and neocolonialism and the attainment of world communism that can provide the conditions under which the RACE question can finally be abolished and eliminated.
13. We face neither East nor West: we face forward.
14. It is far easier for the proverbial camel to pass through the needle’s eye, hump and all than for an erstwhile colonial administration to give sound and honest counsel of a political nature to its liberated territory.
15. We all want a United Africa, United not only in our concept of what unity connotes but united in our common desire to move forward together in dealing with all the problems that can best be solved only on a continental basis.
16. The best way of learning to be an independent sovereign state is to be an independent sovereign state.
17. Africa is one continent, one people and one nation with common destiny.
18. The masses of the people of Africa are crying for unity.
19. A state in the grip of neo-colonialism is not master of its own destiny. It is this factor which makes neo-colonialism such a serious threat to world peace.
20. It is far easier for the proverbial camel to pass through the needle’s eye, hump and all than for an erstwhile colonial administration to give sound and honest counsel of a political nature to its liberated territory.

BASIC EDUCATION-THE BEDROCK OF EDUCATION IN GHANA IS GRADUALLY COLLAPSING.

Undeniably, Basic education is the bedrock of education and in recent times, much attention has been shifted from the basic level of our education ladder which has paved way for so many problems to pop up at the Basic level.

Examinations are very common to every student in the world. Basic Education Certificate Examination is one of the examinations organised by the West Africa Examination Council in Ghana. A lot of arguments have been raised about it. Many people have questioned the credibility of the BECE results , others have opined that, Junior High School pupils should not be made to write any examination after JHS 3 but should proceed to Senior High School right after JHS 3. As to whether these arguments are right, they are subject to intellectual discourse.

In fact, I had my personal view about the Basic Education Certificate Examination until I visited an Examination centre during the 2019 edition. It was there, I realized that, our Basic Education is sitting on tenterhooks and should these acts of ineptitude and corruption on the part of some supervisors, invigilators, teachers and Examiners continue, Ghana's Basic Education will collapse in the nearby future. At the  Examination Centre, almost every candidate was willing and able to sneak into examinations hall with some foreign materials simply because it was considered the order of the day. The invigilators and the Supervisors were rather perpetrators of examination malpractices. Who was there to watch over the 'Watchmen'?

Teachers were running helter skelter in search of 'apor' for their pupils whilst invigilators were busily collecting some token from pupils in order to offer them assistance. This is highly pathetic. The rational behind the BECE is fading out gradually; in no time, BECE results slips would be used to package roasted groundnut or maize by the seller at roadside.

In recent times, one would conclude that the BECE results are not the true reflection of the pupils performance. If this assertion is true, then why should pupils sit for the BECE? Is it the surest way of assesing student's performance at the Basic level? Is it even good for a school like  'Pepesa M/A Junior High School, Kwame-Niampah JHS, Bodwesango D/A JHS, Okranum L/A JHS, Dwirigum L/A JHS....... write the same ICT questions with the likes of Morning Star Academy, Soul Clinic International? I demand no answer. I was not surprised at all when a school which registered thirty-eight candidates for the BECE meander its way through to register only two pupils out of the 38 for the 2019 BECE ICT for a reason(s) best known to them.

My Appeal:

I am humbly appealing to the National Teachers Council, Ministry of Education, Ghana Education Service and all stakeholders of our Basic Education to put cogent measures that would reignite the quality standards of our Basic Education in place; for the Bedrock of our Education is in shambles.

The Government of the day ought to come out with policies that would help promote quality education at the Basic level. Much attention must be paid to the teachers' welfare, productivity and general performance of the teacher. Teachers are the agents of quality education and should they be neglected, it will be very difficult to realize the intended objectives set for our basic education.

Long Live All Teachers.

'AAGBE WƆ' DEMONSTRATION RECORDS MASSIVE TURNOUT

The Opposition political parties in Ghana led by the National Democratic Congress, today , 7th February, 2019 embarked on demonstration in Accra dubbed; 'Aagbe wɔ'. The expression, 'aagbe wɔ' is a Ga parlance which simply means. 'they are killing us'. The implication is that, the Akufo-Addo led government is killing the citizens rather than protecting the rights and liberties of the Citizens.

They also accused the NPP of running family and cronies government instead of providing conditions necessary for economic growth for all.

The Demonstration was organized as a result of the incident that occurred during the Ayawaso-Wuogon by-election. The opposition parties think the government is using other forces to abuse the right of the people and therefore must fight for their constitutional right.

EGYPT TO HOST AFCON 2019

Egypt will host the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced. Egypt beat South Africa, the only other nation to bid, by 16 votes to one with one abstention at a CAF executive committee vote in Senegal.

Original host nation Cameroon was stripped of staging duties in November because of slow preparations.
Egypt has barely six months to prepare for the expanded 24-team finals, which kick off in June. It will be the fifth time Egypt, which won the tournament when it last hosted in 2006, has staged the tournament.

"I want to thank the (CAF) Executive Committee for the trust, and I thank the government for this support," said Egypt FA (EFA) President Hany Abu Rida.

"We organised the tournament on 2006 and that made us against a challenge to make better and better, we are ready for this honour."

"The guarantee from government helped us to win against South Africa and that will help us to make a good tournament," added Ahmed Shobair, vice-president of Egypt's FA.

Egypt will use eight stadia during the tournament, hosting in five different cities: Alexandria, Ismailia, Port Said, Suez and the capital Cairo. CAF had originally planned to name the new hosts on Wednesday 9 January.

Since stripping Cameroon off this year's event, CAF has offered the country the chance to stage the finals in two years' time, which has meant that the original hosts for both the 2021 and 2023 finals have been asked to delay their tournaments.

Ivory Coast, which was set to host the 2021, has protested against the decision at the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
Guinea's football federation announced on Monday that it has agreed to move its staging of the Nations Cup from 2023 to 2025.

Tuesday's announcement took place in the Senegalese capital Dakar. Egypt's Mohamed Salah is looking to retain his title as he takes on Gabon's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Senegal's Sadio Mane for the African Player of the Year award.

SOME MAHAMA'S APPOINTEES ARE IN 'HOT WATER'.

Some thirteen (13) Ghanaians have petitioned the office of the Special Prosecutor Martin Amidu to investigate a report of alleged thievery of state resources by former appointees of then-President John Mahama, MyNewsGh.com has filed.

The Mahama officials named include Mr Kwadwo Twum-Boafo of the Freezones Board, Mr George Ben-Crenstsil of the Ghana Standards Authority, Mr Kingsley Kwame Awuah-Darko of BOST, Sedina A. Tamakloe of MASLOC, Kakra Essamuah of BOST among others.

According to the 13 petitioners, about $176million were embezzled by these officials combined and they are appalled by the seeming silence and lack of action by Mr Amidu on some of the cases submitted to him so far, as nothing has been heard from his outfit.

The list of thirteen which includes lawyers aligned to the ruling NPP include: Sefah Ato Welbeck, Frank Afrifa (Esq), Kyei Baffour (Esq), Francis Odei Ansah, Michael Otu Addo, Philip Kumi, Rita Pokuaa, Felix Tenkorang, Michael Tepre, Elliot Awuku, Theophilus A. Larbi, Robert Osei Bonsu and Stephen Obikyenbi Junior.

Probe Forensic Audit Report (2018), and Auditor General’s Report (2010-2016)

Your Lordship

Martin Amidu (Esq)

Office of the Special Prosecutor

Cantonments, Accra

Dear Sir,

REQUEST FOR PROBE INTO THE FORENSIC AUDIT REPORTS OF STATE INSTITUTIONS (2018) AND AUDITOR GENERAL’S REPORT (2010-2016)
Before your assumption as the Special Prosecutor in April, Ghanaians would always go to bed on empty stomachs that yearn for justice. But, upon your assumption of office–although we are still hungry–there is the hope that we will soon enjoy justice at the end of the tunnel. As Ghanaian Citizens, we have every right as enshrined in the 1992 constitution to demand probity and accountability from state officials. And this can only be possible when it is done through outfits with prosecutorial/adjudicatory powers like the Office of-of the Special Prosecutor.

In summary, the Act (Special Prosecutor Act, 2017 (Act 959)) which establishes your office mandates you to investigate and prosecute alleged corruption offences, recover the proceeds of corruption and take steps to prevent corruption. However, close to ten (10) months since the coming into force of the OSP we have little or nothing to boast about as Ghanaians. There have been little steps and initiatives so far taken to forestall doom on enemies of the state. Today;

Many Ghanaians seem disappointed and devastated for the fact that, they had waited on justice from the OSP for quite too long yet they have seen nothing.

On Wednesday 2nd January, 2019 afternoon, a group of youngsters attacked the Odorkor branch of the Glorious Word Power Ministry International, where Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah happens to be the Head Pastor.
